PRODUCT INFORMATION

Molds were made from an original set of ANM2 .30 cal. Aircraft spade grips handles. Polyurethane resin is very tough and will take a lot of abuse. It can be scratched or marred in the same way wood or Bakelite handles can, but there is no comparison in resin's resistance to impact.

ABOUT FIT AND FINISH

The Original ANM2 Bakelite handles had the mold lines running down the sides. My resin handles have no lines at all. As much as I have tried to keep all of the features of the original, reproducing the mold lines seems pointless and using a two piece mold leads to misaligned halves with inconsistent results. The seamless mold I use produces a very fine handle.

NOTE: the handles shown at left and below left are samples. The actual handles have a 5/8" center hole.

Finger rest handles.

The basic resin spade grip handle I produce has an original spec 5/8"splined hole through the center bit. This will accommodate original ANM2 splined spade grip tubes. I can also provide other center holes on request. The resin works well and drills smoothly. Spade grip bracket disks are generally about 1", and the end of the Bakelite handle is 1 1/8". The ends of the handles are slightly rounded.
